xmas 2006
It was dinner at Jap Dining Sun with poly friends including bfs.
Wanted to go to Sun With Moon but it was fully booked, so they got us a table here.
There is our exchanged pressies, all wrapped beautifully. In the end wynne and me got each other pressies and same goes for Denise and Jiahui.
And there is the four of us for a group photo.
Oh I received a very special pressie from Jiahui - a handmade calender! Thanks gal, we love it very much!
I like this pic best!
Saturday was dim sum lunch with uni friends at Imperial Nan Bei Restaurant.
Group photo again before we start to attack the food. The dim sum is good! And the price is reasonable. Each of us paid less than 20 bucks.
There is Jina with Jiahui. Jina is back from Sydney on a 2 weeks break. We only get to see her once a year. Sob Sob. We went for abit of shopping after the heavy lunch in order for our food to digested. Then we settled down at Starbucks for some coffee to rest our tired legs.
Me with Jiahui

Xmas eve was spend at my sis's friend house for dinner, games and drink.
The spread of food on the table. Each of us have to prepare something. For me and sis, it was fried chicken wings and mush potatoes (without the gravy). Haha!

work + green horn
The new guy started work last fri but...he is really green horn, fresh out of the uni, totally unfamilar with interior works. I had a hard time explaining how to do invoicing, getting the subcontractors to quote, doing variation works. Guess it will take him quite awhile to absorb and understand what I am teaching him. *God bless me*

moisturise
Whose feet are those?? Is mine! And why am I wearing socks in the house when Singapore does not have winter? Haha! I just slapped on some lotion to moisturise and smoothen my feet!
Sis brought back the Bath & Body Works body cream from US including the pair of socks. The smell of the lotion is great, with lavender scent. Smells good!
She also bought me a tube of hand lotion and the smell is identical to The Body Shop's White Musk.

Tokidoki + Goodies
Too happy for words already! But my pocket will burn a hole very soon...
Sis also brought some pocky sticks home. She got them in Narita airport while on her transit back to Singapore. There is milk chocolate, green tea and white chocolate flavour. Just eaten the green tea ones and they are yummy!

star dancer
But I am not getting her...sigh. Got other commitments. Need to save as much as possible. Sigh... Got more pics from Jueline's blog.
Her star dancer is such a sweetie! When can I start to pamper myself again...

paradiso
Yippe! I am a happy gal now. I finally own a LSS tokidoki bag! It is the new winter collection! Yesterday I just received a sms from my sis that she have helped me get the bag in LA. Hehe! But I have to wait till 2 weeks later to get my hands on it as she just reached LA yesterday. Haha!
Actually I wanted to get a Coach bag as it is cheaper in US but after scanning throught the website, I couldnt find anything I like. So I decide to get LSS as I think it will suits me better and sis also agrees with me on that. Coach is too formal for me. Haha!

TTS + upgrading
On friday, my house started the upgrading of the toilets - changing of the water pipe, replacing with uPVC pipes, redoing the whole toilet. So there is what my kitchen and toilet look like now...
In the middle is the make shift toilet with no HOT WATER!
The floor of the toilet have to be rescreed and waterproofed before laying of new tiles
Right now, everywhere is dust and we have to wear slippers around the house (except for the rooms). Worst of all is there is not hot water to bath with. Cant boil any water. Such a torture! Sigh! Still got 8 more days to endure before the whole thing is done.

八跨新闻 + mitch albom + last day
I was having coffee with the gals and JH mentioned that she just finish reading "the five people you meet in heaven" by mitch albom. I have that book!! But I did not finish reading that. Therefore when I am back home, I went to fish out the book and started reading it. The story started about how an old man died in an accident. Hopefully I am able to finish the book this time round.
Today is my colleague's last day at work. Time passed so fast since the day he gave his resignation letter. Just went through with him the projects which I need to take over. Sigh! Work is going to be tough starting from next week, I have in hand 7 projects to run! God bless me!

questions
Q1 - In the morning when I was taking the lift up to the office, there is another lady in the lift with me. I recognise her, her office is also in the same level as mine. Out of the blue, she asked me whether I am doing sales. I said no and in the back of my mind I was thinking do I look like I am doing sales when I was dressing down with just jeans, a black T-shirt and sandals. I am really curious why she asked me that question.
Q2 - At night around 8plus my boss called me in the office. As my colleague is leaving end of the week, my boss was asking me about the status for the recruitment of the new qs. As it is now towards the end of the year, there are not much applicants and so far I only interviewed 2 people. Then my boss asked me, "why not I pay you more then you do all by yourself?" #$%^&*@ Of course I did not say yes to his suggestion. How on earth am I going to do 2 person's workload??!! I am not superwoman. Now I really have to pray hard that there will be more applicants. :(

death note
Me and jackson went to catch "Death Note" last night. It was quite an interesting movie. The storyline followed quite closely to the manga except that Light is a high school student in the manga rather than an uni law student in the movie. Towards the end of the movie, there is a twist of plot and the movie ended with Light wanting to join in the Investigating Unit. So there is will be a part 2 coming up and of course I will be watching it to know what the twist of the plot will lead us to.
I enjoyed the show very much and it seems like the trend now is to produce shows from manga, just like "Gong" which was a huge success. I find the manga shows are very witty and funny and the storyline is rather unusual, something different from the usual TV dramas and movie.
Looking forward to part 2...

ndsl + prank?
Just saw a small highlight of the latest game in 8days for ds which is 'cooking mama'. Looks very fun and it is tempting me to go get a ndsl! The urge and temptation is really killing me! Who is going to save me? Haha!
Just receive a sms from M saying that ZX is now in coma in a KL hospital. Later on D called me to explain the whole thing to me as R told her everything. Apparently ZX was in a business trip in KL and he was involved in a car incident. Because of this, ZX's family is in need of money as they want to send him back to Spore and the cost of getting a helicopter is US$20,000! Upon hearing this both D and me was puzzled and in doubt. However when D called M to confirm about the news, M scolded D for not believing as nobody will play such a prank especially on a friend's life. According to R, they are trying to raise a total of $5,000, so 10-15 people will have come out with $500 each. So should we believe?
Anyway after much discussion, M will go and get the hospital name and we will get V who is now living KL to hop over to the hospital to vertify the whole thing. Hopefully tomorrow we can get an answer.

coordinator?
I am not the coordinator for the project! I am only the qs...starting to find work here very vexing. On top of my qs roles, I have to be part time coordinator and also part time purchaser. Why the work system here has changed so drastically? Because of the lack of coordinators and increase in projects? Then why in the first place we accepted so much project? Sigh!
Really getting sick of the work...want to escape from work and take a good rest...but I doubt I have that luxury of time. :(

bad friday again
Then got a duno-whether-good-or-bad news yesterday, my qs colleague has tendered his resignation. That means I have to work with another new colleague and most likely Ihave to teach that person from scratch. However now is Oct, dont know whether there will be many job appliciants for this position. It seems the construction industry is lack of qs now, not to mention interior works. Sigh. But I feel happy for my colleague as he is able to move on to a better job with better prospects, pay and benefits.
Starting to feel tired already, tomorrow is my off day but I dont feel like coming back...
29 September 2006
bad friday
Next, 2 of my colleagues asked me the same question - "did you tell the sliding door contractor when to install or when is the handover date for the shop?" wtf! I am not the site coordinator and I have already give the contact of the contractor to our coordinator. It is up to him to arrange with the contractor when to install the door. If I am going to arrange all these things, I might as well be the site coordinator and not QS! Why dont they asked him that question, why me?
Next, I am having flu (dont know what kind) and my throat feels tickish. Wanted to go home early but work is keeping me back in the office.
Finally, it is friday night and I am still stuck in office with flu. Hopefully I will be getting tomorrow as will be going to JB with sis and jackson. Sis is going there for her annual eye checkup so me and jackson are her bodyguards. Haha!
Ok, enough of blogging, time to get back to work....

touch down
As for my trip to Jakarta, it was tiring. Being inside the car and stuck in the traffic jam for 2 hrs is unbearing! Jakarta is really famous for their traffic jams! I think there are more cars than people there! At anytime of the day, there sure to have jams. Other than that there is nothing much to comment about Jakarta as the places I went is either Senayan City or the hotel - is business trip, cant ask for more. Well, the pro of going on a business trip is that one doesnt need to be in office slogging away but the con is that when you are back in office, one has a hill of work to clear. That is my situation at work now. Sigh!

sad + jakarta
As for jakarta, I will be there for a business trip with my boss. I will be going there next thurs and coming back on sun. But I think I better changed and come back on sat as on 10th, I have a wedding dinner to attend.
edited : cant change the flight because ticket has been issued already. Sigh.

ddung gal
Isnt she a cutie? She is a ddung gal, a new doll released from Korea. Chanced upon her while I was reading a blythe friend's blog. Been trying to find her information/history from the internet but the official website is in Korean. However from the pics I saw from the website, it seems like the doll originated from a cartoon in which ddung was a four year old girl. No wonder she is so cute. She is definately cheaper than Blythe doll. Speaking of blythes, it seems I have been neglecting them. Too tied up with work, sigh! Hope I can play with them more often, if not they will be collecting dust in my cabinet. Haha!

click + drunk gal
As for the drunk gal, it is refering to my sis. She got drunk again on sat night. Therefore I was woken up from my sleep at 3am to bring her up from downstairs. She was really dead drunk, keep saying she wants to vomit but nothing came out of her mouth. Haha! That reminds me of the times I was drunk too but it was donkey years ago. I havnt been going to clubbing since CNY. So aftermy bro and I brought her home and get her to sleep, I decide to work since I wouldnt sleep. Finally finish the BQ which was due today. By the time i finish it was already 6am. So went to sleep and woke up around 12pm...Haha!

late night + flat hunting
For my flat hunting, it is not really very fruitful. We managed to view the not-so-old (more than 5, less than 10 yrs old)4R flats in amk. However, we do not fancy the layout especially the master bedroom. The space for the wardrobe is small, the most can only have 3 doors. OMG! How can it fit all the clothes and stuffs? *faint* Well the coming sat, will be going to view the 5R flat. Have to start saving very hard because the flats are not cheap! 300K for 4R and 400k for 5R!

The only thing I look forward to these days is weekend especially when Sat is my off day. Therefore this sat I am going to watch Pirates, Yippee!

NANA + superman
I have following the manga for quite sometime already, however the story is only till the 15th book now and think there is still a long way to go. Hopefully it does not follow the footsteps of "Meteor Garden"! Haha!
Actually when I was in Hong Kong last November, I saw preview of the movie on TV. That is how I know they have a movie coming up. However it is not screened in Singapore, dont know why. Luckily there is vcd to compensate for that.
Last night or rather this morning 12am, I watched Superman with my sis and her friends after attending my colleague's wedding dinner. Speaking of the dinner, I was the first to arrive and end up I have to sit at the table alone for 10mins before another colleague arrive. Singaporean are always late especially for wedding dinner. The invite says 7.30pm sharp, I reached there at 7.45pm but the tables were only half filled. After 1 hour of waiting, the dinner started at 8.45pm.
Back to Superman, I am kind of disappointed with the story line. It is not as good as I have hoped. Felt that the story is a bit draggy and not that intensed. Superman still looks good and I think that is the only plus point and attraction of the whole movie. Brandon Routh sure has the making of Superman and at some point of time I see bits of Christopher Reeves in him. :)

pressie
Shopping around for pressie is really brain whacking especially during this period of time as most of my close friends' bdae fall around this period including mine. Lucky for me, me and my friends have scraped off the idea of buying individual pressies for each other. For this year, we will get a pressie each then we shall lucky dip to see who get whose pressie. In this way we only need to whack our brain once instead of 4! Haha!
What I want for pressie List
- Blythe doll
- Clothes for blythe dolls
- Porter International reversible canvas tote bag (but is S$189!)
- LSS Tokidoki Playground print Mamma Mia (not in spore yet but will not be cheap too...)
cant think of anymore right now....but I think the above list is quite useless....I doubt dear will get me any of the above...Haha!

work + tired
Extracted from the internet, below is the explanation of anaemia :-
What is anaemia?
Anaemia is a deficiency of red blood cells, which can lead to a lack of oxygen-carrying ability, causing unusual tiredness and other symptoms. The deficiency occurs either through the reduced production or an increased loss of red blood cells. These cells are manufactured in the bone marrow and have a life expectancy of approximately four months. To produce red blood cells, the body needs (among other things) iron, vitamin B12 and folic acid. If there is a lack of one or more of these ingredients anaemia will develop.
What are red blood cells?
Red blood cells are made in the bone marrow and circulate in the blood. Through its pumping action, the heart propels the blood around the body through the arteries. The red blood cells obtain oxygen in the lungs and carry it to all the body's cells. The cells use the oxygen to fuel the combustion (burning) of sugar and fat which produces the body's energy.During this process called oxidation, carbon dioxide is created as a waste product. It binds itself to the red blood cells that have delivered their load of oxygen. The carbon dioxide is then transported back to the lungs where it is exchanged for fresh oxygen by breathing.
What causes iron deficiency?
Most cases of iron deficiency in children are caused by eating a poor diet containing little iron. In adults, however it is most commonly caused by losing blood faster than the body can remake it.
A lack of iron in the diet is common in vegetarians because the main general dietary source is red meat. Babies can develop iron deficiency, especially if they have been born prematurely. Their storage of iron is usually not completed until the final stages of pregnancy.
An increased need for iron arises when a large amount of cell divisions occur, such as during pregnancy, and during periods of rapid childhood growth.
Reduced absorption from the intestine of iron can be caused by diseases of the small intestine such as gluten intolerance (coeliac sprue) or Crohn's disease (inflammation of the intestine).
Always consult a doctor for unexplained iron deficiency. The cause could be small ruptures in the intestine due to cancer or polyps (small growths). Ulcers in the stomach and duodenum can also lead to iron deficiency anaemia. This loss of blood from the digestive tract may be so slight as to be undetected on its own.
Iron deficiency is more frequent in women who smoke, eat a diet low in iron and have heavy periods.
What are the symptoms of anaemia due to iron deficiency?
- If a person is otherwise healthy, symptoms seldom appear before the haemoglobin (red pigment) drops below 10g/dl.
- The first symptoms will be tiredness and palpitations (awareness of the heartbeat).
- Shortness of breath and dizziness is common.
- If the anaemia is severe, angina (chest pain), headache and leg pains (intermittent claudication) can occur.
Besides the general symptoms of anaemia there will be unique symptoms in pronounced and long-term cases of iron deficiency. These will be especially noticeable in the tongue and throat and include:
- a burning sensation in the tongue.
- dryness in the mouth and throat.
- sores at the corners of the mouth.
- an altered sense of touch.
- a smooth tongue.
- in extreme cases the nails can become brittle and spoon shaped with vertical stripes and a tendency to fray.
- or a 'pica' can arise - an insatiable craving for a specific food, eg liquorice.
- brittle hair.
- difficulty in swallowing.
Possible deterioration
Shortness of breath, palpitation and angina.
ron deficiency can in rare cases cause permanent changes to the mucosa (soft lining) in the throat (Plummer-Vinson syndrome). This condition is a preliminary stage to cancer.
How does a doctor diagnose anaemia due to iron deficiency?
First, the doctor must be sure that the patient suffers from anaemia and will probably request a blood test. With the result of the blood test, an analysis of the red blood cells will usually be included. In cases of pronounced iron deficiency the red blood cells will be small and pale.
An iron deficiency can be identified by techniques that examine the proteins involved in the storage and transport of iron through the body (ferritin and transferrin).
What can the doctor do to treat anaemia due to iron deficiency?
- Examine the patient and prescribe appropriate treatment to deal with the causes of the illness.
- Prescribe an iron supplement.
Medicines
- Iron preparations. Iron tablets will rapidly reverse anaemia if the underlying cause of blood loss has been treated. The tablets can irritate the stomach and should be taken after food if this is the case. Iron tablets may colour the stools black and may cause constipation or sometimes diarrhoea. Very occasionally there may be a need for intramuscular iron injections to be given instead of tablets, but this is far less common.
What can be done to avoid anaemia
- Eating a varied diet.
- Good sources of iron include liver, beef, wholemeal bread, cereals, eggs and dried fruit.
- A doctor should always be consulted immediately if there is loss of blood in the stools or urine. Medical advice should also be sought about persistently heavy periods.
- A woman who is pregnant or planning to become pregnant, should talk to her doctor about iron supplements.
I have to start to eat iron supplements again...must make a mental note to get the tablets from the pharmacy.

porter international + belt + hair
While taking train back home, a kid played with my belt! I was standing against the glass panel adjacent to the seats when I felt that someone is touching my belt. I turn around and saw the kid putting her finger in and out of the holes in my MNG belt. Maybe she find it interesting...haha!
Tomorrow morning I will be visiting my hair stylist to straighten my permed locks. Had my permed hair for about 1 yr now, so decide to go for a change and maybe at the end of the year will reperm again...hehe! So just now I told dear that I decide to straighten my hair, he asked why. Then I replied that is because he like. He laughed and commented that I never listen to him even though he told me previously that he prefer me to have straight hair (I went to perm) and not to buy anymore blythe doll (I am still buying...)...haha! Me a stubborm gal?

blythe gathering + stone grill
Anyway below are the pics I took which are not a lot, compared to the other gals who went round marche finding nice spots to take pics. I just sat on my seat the whole afternoon... =(
After the gathering, went for dinner at Stone Grill to celebrate Dennis' bdae. Below is the bdae boy.
The food is so so only. The stone really gets hot for quite sometime until the food gets burnt and stick to the stone. After the dinner, our whole body and hair has this bbq smell, just like Seoul Garden. Haha!
