Passport Photo

As I am renewing my passport, I decided to apply for the little one passport too. It is really hard to get the little one to stand straight and smile in front of the camera. Lucky there is a function in the camera that is able to take mutiple shots at a click of the button.

Cheeky Boy 3

This little boy is full of mischief. Look what he had done with his toy bin. He practically emptied all his toys out and cover himself with the bin and walked around. Haha.

Gadget

Yes I am back to the blogging hemisphere after almost two months of absence. I kept giving excuse of losing the blogging mojo but I guess laziness was the main reason. Haha. Hopefully I would be more hardworking and post at least once a week.
Children are always curious with everything around them, my little one is no exception. His new interest or rather gadget is the iphone! I do not know how he manage to learn but apparently he knows how to slide the arrow across to unlock the phone. There were a few instances that he woke up in the morning and took my iphone and started fiddling with it. The results? He sms to my friend in some alien language and also called my in-laws place at 6.30am scaring the hell out of my MIL. Since then I decided to lock my iphone using the pin number function.

One of the little one's favourite application on the iphone is "Talking Carl". He loves to poke at Carl, tickle Carl and talk to Carl. He finds it rather amusing to have Carl repeating what he says. I guess Carl is the only one who "understands" what he says. Haha.

Being 19 months old, the little one is still babbling in his baby language with occassionally words sounding like "jie jie", "ah-ma", "por por" and "pa-pa". Are boys really slow in talking?

Drink or Play?

Recently the little one developed a bad habit. After drinking water, he would play with the bottle and let the water seep out from the straw. Knowing that he would perform such a act, I would take the bottle away from him after he had finish drinking. When I try to take the bottle away from him, he would start to cry and he would hold on to the bottle very tightly. Basically I had to force open his fingers to take the bottle. Hubby comments that the little one take after my short temper.

Family Affair

Had dinner with sis and mum last Saturday at Vivocity's 三盅两件. As usual the little one showed off his cheekness to everyone. He was exceptionally good during the dinner, did not fuss a lot. After the dinner, we went to do a bit of shopping then went back home.

Second Swim

We brought the little one for his second swim after Jovia's first birthday party last Sunday. The little one enjoyed himself very much. Initially he was just standing at the same spot playing and splashing the water. After 10 mins, he began to walk around in the baby pool, not scared of falling down. He also got his share of drinking the pool's water. Haha.

Happy 17 months old!

Another month passed and you are one month older! During this one month, you had been very playful and stubborn. You still only have 6 teeth and there is no signs that the rest of the teeth are going grow out. You are able to listen to simple instruction but sometimes pretend not to hear any of our words. You are still very clingy to your ma-ma and me. You will cry whenever we are out of your sight especially at home. You now taller than the dining table. You have learnt to climb up the dining chairs but please be careful as you might fall and hurt yourself. Love you! Smuck!

Zoo Zoo Zoo

Last Saturday, we made a trip to our Singapore Zoo with a couple of friends. We reached there close to 4pm and had only 2 hours to tour the whole place. Though it was a bit rush, it was still fun as it had been years since my last visit to the zoo. By the way it was the little one first visit to the zoo. Well he was not very excited when looking at the animals. He just stare at them. Haha. Guess he must be terrified by the animals. Haha.

Greedy Boy III

This little one reallys love to eat! He practically eats everything including papers. Haha. Well that is good and bad for us. Good is because we will not have a problem of feeding him and him rejecting the food. Bad is because he would make a fuss whenever he sees someone eating and no one is feeding him. This happens even when he finishes his dinner.

So there is the little one feeding himself with his morning snack. He would place 1 piece of the food into his mouth and before the food goes down his throat, he would stuff another piece into his mouth. That explains why his mouth is full in the last picture. Haha.

Work and Family

I have not been updating my blog regularly ever since I started my new job. Weekdays are impossible to blog because by the time the little one is asleep, is almost 10pm. Then I had to bathe, by the time I am done it is almost 10.30pm. Then I surf the internet, 11.30pm and its time for bed.

I hardly had the time to blog during weekends too. Weekends are always filled with housework, looking after the little one and outings. When the night comes, I would be too lazy and tiring to blog.

My new job is also more demanding. I find that time passes extremely fast in this new environment as compared to my previous job. Previously, I could work comfortably till 7pm and called it a day. But now time seems not enough, especially these couple of weeks. There are endless meetings and coordination work to be done. Looking at the bright side, I am learning new things everyday.

Work and family are filling up all my time...how I wish I had more time for myself...

1st YOG

We joined in the heat for the first YOG by witnessing the YOG torch relay. For the first day of the relay, it journeyed through Ang Mo Kio and luckly our estate was part of the route.

A week before the relay, we received the pamplet stating the time and the exact route. The time was from 4.30pm to 5.15pm. We went down slightly before 4.30pm and to our dismay, we had to wait till 5.30pm before the whole team arrived. Nevertheless, the whole event was very joyous and everyone were cheering on for the torch bearer.

Nandos Nandos

Both Hubby and I were on leave ysterday and today as my parent-in-laws were away for a short trip to kuching. So today we went out and the first venue is a second hand car shop then to Hubby's friend newly opened boutique in Bali Lane.

Since we are near Bugis and it is soon to be dinner time, we headed to Nandos at Bugis Junction. Hubby was raving about the Nandos chicken. That was his fave food when he was studying in Perth.

The deco there is quite mexican. Forgotten to ask Hubby whether Nandos originated from Mexico.

The attendees - Hubby, me and the little one. Since we were out the afternoon, so the little one had no porridge to eat for dinner. We had to order some rice and fed him with that with some soup.

Both of us ordered half chicken with some side dishes. We could choose the level of spiciness for the chicken. We had the lowest level one as we feared it might be too spicy for us. In the end it was not that spicy as we think. On the whole the chicken is tasty, just that half chicken is too much for me and the side dishes are not as good as Kenny Rogers.

Another thing that surprises me is the queue. We were there around 6pm and there were no queue. But around 6.30pm, the queue was formed from the restaurant to outside of the building, amazing!

Happy 16 months old

Everyday the little one is learning something new. Last Sunday when I let him play with the tricycle, I realised he is able to manoeuvre forward! He was still going backwards 2 months ago.

Happy 16 months old Jerold! Love you!

Tea, Coffee & Scones

Last Saturday, I managed to meet up with the gals and tony for lunch. After lunch we retreated to Takashimaya's Copenhagen for tea. We ordered their famous scones but I have forgotten to take photos of them. Too busy looking after the little one. The place wasn't child friendly as they do not have any baby seat, so I have to let the little one sit on my lap.

Here is the little one playing with his new toy. A magnetic board which daddy got for him to play while we are having tea.

Their coffee which we think is worth the price as it comes in a big cup.

Their tea seat (excluding the cheesecake) consisting of a big pot of tea and the cup with saucer and the container for sugar.

I had their ice tea which was nothing special. Next time I would like to try their tea but of course it must be done without the little one. Haha.

New Hair Style

The little one new hair style, crew cut! It was done last week by my MIL's friend. Quick and easy.

By the way, this set of photos were taken in the morning before I went to work. The little one was busy taking things out of my drawer. Yes this activity is one of his favourite past time.

Mess

What is the common thing that kids like to play or do? That is to take out anything from anywhere, fiddle with the thing for a while and leave it on the floor in a mess! No matter how many times you tell them not to take but when you turn your back around, they will run to take the 'forbidden' thing.

The photo is a typical layout of the mess in the room when he is inside while i am ironing clothes. The little one will just poke his fingers everywhere, playing with every possible things he can lay his hands on.

The result? We have to pick up after them.

Voyage de La Vie

Last Wednesday, hubby managed to get a free ticket to watch "Voyage de La Vie" at RWS. But he can't be watching it alone, so he paid for 1 ticket for me to watch with him.

I was expecting something like Cirque de Soleil, however I was disappointed. The show is like a mix of musical cum circus show. There was no 'wow' factor. There were only 2 performance that bowled me over - the 15 -year-old Russian contortionist Alexey Goloborodko who is able to twist himself into a pretzel and the crossbow performance by crossbow artist Martti Peltonen.

Probably I was tired from work as there were a couple of minutes I had my eyes closed. Haha. Overall I felt it was a mediocre show.

He Bangs

Saw the red marks on his nose and nose bridge? That was the result of him climbing up my in laws' bed and banging himself onto the head board. This incident happened a couple of weeks ago. When I got home and saw him that night, his nose was as red as a reindeer. It was even redder than the photo.

The little one is so active now. Always climbing up and down. Even when he is walking, he will also fall down. There were a few occasion that he walked and fell with a bump on his forehead. Are boys always so active as compared to girls?

Procrastination

Ever since I started in my job, I have been lazy and tired to blog. By the time I reached home, put the little one to bed, bathed, it would be well over 10pm. I would still switch on my laptop and log into Facebook. However I would usually dozed off while surfing through Facebook. Haha.

This applies to weekends too. I would still wake up around the same time as weekdays because the little one is a early riser. By the nightfall, I would be tired from looking after the little one and all the housework.

Everyday I would tell myself - ok its time to type my blog but day after day due to the above reasons it was being put off. Hopefully I would try to blog at least once a week from now on. *cross my fingers*

Jerold Boy - 15 months old

Hey our little one is 15 months old! Everyday he is changing and learning new things. Everything around is interesting. He would open every drawers and take the items out to play. He would touch every of the buttons on any electronic devices eg the cable TV box, DVD player, fan etc. Even the detergent bottles are fun for him. He is really a little devil in disguise of an angel. Haha.
No matterwhat, he is always our 开心果! He never fails to cheer us up when he is around us. Love you!

New Beginning

Today marks a new beginning for me as it is my first day of work at the new company. Yes I had left my previous job of 8 years and moving on to what I deem and hope to be a greener pasture for me.

After working in the same company for 8 years, work had become very stagnant. Of course there were times I wanted to leave but the pulling factors were not great and on a couple of occasions I were asked to stay after I threw in the letter.

However, this time round I stayed firm on my decision to leave after a couple of rounds of talks with my previous boss. It was really a tough decision. My previous boss was rather unhappy with my decision. So when he requested me to extend my 1 month notice period, I agreed. I helped to finish a tender, forsaking any break time before the new job.

Well, though I cannot have a break, I was paid in cash for my 32 days of outstanding leaves. Hopefully this new company will be a greener pasture to me.

Food Talk #14 - Japanese Curry Rice

My second attempt in cooking this dish. Well it is quite a relative simple and easy dish to cook. Just put the ingredients into the pan, fried them, add water and curry cubes, shimmer and voila the curry is done.

[ ingredients needed - chicken, onions, carrot, potatoes and brocoli ]

[ pan fried all ingredients together ]

[ end product ]

I think I had been rather absent minded when it comes to cooking. For Saturday's steamed egg I had forgotten to add water, so had to have fried egg. For this curry, I forgotten to marinate the chicken, luckily hubby reminded me, if not we will have tasteless chicken to eat. Bad memory.

Kiddy Ride

As the name suggests, any kids who ride on them are happy kids. Same goes for the little one when he gets to ride on the Kiddy Ride. Look how happy and excited is he and he goes on to touch and press everything on the little train.

Birthday Treat

Sis and I were treated to a post-birthday dinner by our little brother. We had dinner at Saizeriya, City Square Mall. This is their second outlet with the first one at Liang Court. They served Italian Japanese food. My brother and sister had great raves about their food. I had their seafood risotto but doesn't quite like it. It tastes like our zhi char's mui fan cooked in tomato sauce. I was quite disappointed. I guess it explains why this outlet was not crowded whereas the Liang Court outlet is often packed.

This is what happened to the little one when he decides to play with the stool, flip it over and sit in it. Haha. I let him enjoy his seat for a couple of minutes before he starts to cry, wanting to get out of it.

This is what the little one is 'talking' in the car during our journey home just now when they came to pick me up from my work place.

Playing Ball

The little one loves to play ball with someone. He does not play ball alone. He loves to throw the ball to someone and let him/her throw it back to him. He will laugh out loud when the other person uses the head to hit the ball. Haha.

Birthday 2010 - 080610

So what can 2 ladies and a toddler do on their birthday? We went out shopping! In the morning we head out to Marina Square and met another friend for lunch. Hubby came and look for us during his lunch break.

Coincidentally there was a Doraemon exhibition at the central stage. The little one was happily running around, touching the photos on the wall.

Next, we (a team of 3 gals and a toddler) headed down to Orchard ION for some shopping therapy. The little one was a good boy because he did not make a fuss while sitting down in his stroller. Guess he was busy observing the surrounding and people around him.

Our friend left us for another appointment around 3pm. Then we went to the bakery shop 'Provence' for tea (for us) and milk (for the little one) break.

I lover their breads! Both sis and I had their cinnamon bun and drinks. The bun is good! After the break, we continued with our shopping.

Around 5plus pm, the little one had another break. He had some biscuits and water before we continued shopping. Shopping was fruitless. Did not managed to buy much. I only got a pair of heels and a top.

Next we retreated to PS Cafe at Palsis Renaissance for dinner together with our hubbies. Their food is good too!

We were seated in the outdoor area. Luckily the weather was breezy and there were sufficient fans around.

The birthday gals and their boy / man.

Our food - mine was catch of the day (grilled fish). Sis had grilled steak and BIL had St Louis pork ribs. Hubby had beef steak burger.

Reached home closed to 10pm and the little one was ushered to dreamland. A tiring but happy day.
