New Year's Eve

Hey how come I am at home typing an entry in my blog during NY's eve?

Reason One :: Turned down an invitation to a party as it was not my cup of tea

Reason Two :: Have no idea where to go and what to do, so after a short and fruitless shopping trip in orchard after work, decided to head back home and rest.

Reason Three :: Have been sneezing and blowing my nose for the whole day even after taking medication.

Anyway, wish everyone have a terrific New Year 2008! And hope my nose will be better and stop running away. \(^o^)/

Xmas Eve

Had dinner with poly friends and after dinner, went to watch "National Treasure : Book of Secret".

The ending is quite predictable with the lead actor getting the treasure he was searching for. However I was quite amazed by the gadgets and construction of the City of Gold. Was wondering how they manage to build that. Another thing that kept me in thinking was Nicholas Cage's hair? How come it was unfashionably styled? Is he suffering from hair loss too?

231207 - Sentosa

For pre-celebration of Xmas, me denise and hui decide to celebrate it in Sentosa. We had a fun and sweaty day at Sentosa. I am rather amazed at the new developments and attractions they have. 1st stop is Sentosa Express. Don't we look like tourist posing for photos? Haha!

We took the new monorail from Vivo City to the Beach Station. Both Denise and I were 1st timers in taking the new train.

From the Beach Station, we took the tram to Tanjong Beach where we laze away in the sun for about an hour.

Me and Hui with our special pills pressie from Denise. I got the "Princess Pills", so people will treat me like a princess after I eaten the pills? Haha!

Next we head to the Dolphin Lagoon to see the pink dolphins in actions. Well it is also our 1st time there (very sua ku of us right?). Haha! The pink dolphins are actually grey in colour but as they aged, their skin colour will transform to pink. So if you see a really pink dolphin, that means it should be quite old already.

Next is the Skytrain and Luge. Only me and Hui played because Denise tried her hands on that before already. There is the both of us with the helmets for the Luge. Haha! Both of us were scared on the Skytrain ride. With our legs dangling in the air, we felt very insecure. Therefore we keep looking back in hope to lessen our fear. Once we reach the top of the "hill", we queued up for the Luge ride. It was a long and tiring queue. Bot overall Luge was fun.

Next is the Underwater world. Is my 1st time there too. Haha!

Wanted to try out the latest attraction - Cineblast, but the queue is very long. We decided to head back home. On the way to the monorail, we saw a very good location to take photo with the Merlion. Photo time again.

Other than the above photos, we 自拍 alot too as we find it troublesome to get people to take for us.

Overall is a nice outing except for the time we wasted in queuing up for the Luge. :)

161207 - Marc and Joey Wedding

Attended my cousin Marc's wedding last last Sunday. It was wedding lunch at Marriott Hotel. The lunch was good and fast. It started around 2pm and finished by 4.30pm.

Well this is the wedding flavour given by the couple, cute right?

This is my nephew, Ethan. When you show him his picture on the camera and ask him who is that little boy, he will say "baby". Haha!

Me and hubby. Hubby was specially invited by my auntie as he is sort of part of the family now.

No Work on 24th Dec

In appreciation of months of hard work, today our lady boss announced that the company will be close on 24th. Moreover this is a paid leave which mean no leave will be deducted. Hehe! I will have a long holiday and not having to work for 3 days! Yippe! This is something to look forward to other than christmas. So happy.

How I spend my Saturday...

I totally love "Hero". It is really a very nice and entertaining show, not to mention the pretty face of Takuya Kimura. Laughter could also be heard in the cinema throughout the show, of course I am one of them laughing away. The money is really well-spent. Hopefully there will be more good shows from Takuya Kimura in the future.

Jog + Sick

Yeah finally I managed to drag my lazy legs to go jogging last evening. However when I was in my 4th round, I felt little droplets of rain hitting on my face. Oh it started to drizzle! Decided to finish my 4th round and head back home. While I was resting and cooling down, I looked out of the window. No more rain already!! Aiya, I should have continue to jog. Don't think I manage to burn off much calories since I only jogging for 10-15mins. Haha! Ok never mind, I shall push myself again this Sunday.

Arrgh my brother just gotten the Foot Hand Mouth Disease!! Is contagious! So scary. He got little red dots all over his body, hands and legs, ulcer in his mouth and blisters on his foot. Poor boy. Don't know whether he will pass it to us or not. But it seems to be more common among the children rather than adults. Prevention is better than cure, so right now must start to built up my immune system by drinking more water and herbal tea. ;)

lazy gal

Yes I am truly a lazy gal ever since after my ROM. Haha! Had been procasting on stuffs that I should be doing but instead I am trying to defend some clients on my DS lite and watching drama series.

Currently I am hooked to "Heroes" and "公主小妹". For "Heroes", I am still in season 1 and after watching episode 1, I fell in love with the storyline! I am looking forward to see how the group of people with supernatural powers got together to save the world.

As for the stuffs I need to do....

• To gather info and design for my WG and decide which type I will like as I will be meeting up with the designer next month, thats leave me 1 month to research.
• To start jogging again. Have stopped jogging after ROM which is like 3 weeks!!
• Must start to do some groundwork for next year customary, eg the stuffs we need for Guo Da Li,An Zhuang etc.

Wow seems like there is alot stuffs to do. Seriously I need to start on all these stuffs. Probably I should shorten the time I spend on watching the dramas. Haha! Ganbate!! p(^o^)q

Is Jester cute? Right now I am trying to feed him to gain more speed but in order to have money to buy food for him, I have to get him to race and bet on the races. Another way to get money is to pet other people (fluff)Friends.

to our ROM. Tomorrow at 2.30pm we will saying our vows, exchanging our wedding bands and all these will be witness by our family and close friends.

How am I feeling now? Hmmm... nervous...excited and scared. No...I am not scared of getting hitched. I am scared of saying the vows, scared that my tongue will get all tied up due to my nervousness. Haha!

Diana Bade

Last Friday was Diana's bdae, so we went out for dinner. Dinner was japanese buffet at Hanabi Restaurant. The food was so-so only. Maybe is because we ordered too much sashimi and were too full to eat other kind of stuffs. The food variety is also not as much as the one at Mirama Hotel. Will give a second thought to coming back here unless is someone's treat. Haha!

After the dinner, we retreat to Long Bar to have some drinks and have some gals power talk. I think it was our first time we went to a pub for drinks. Usually we will head to some coffee place. Since it was diana's bdae, we decide to finish off the night with some liquor.

Rantings

This week, work had been horrible. On top of the quotations I need to do without any help as my colleague has left for a greener pasture, I still need to "look after" 1 of the on-going project. Why?

1. Our senior project manager was being out-stationed to KL to help with the projects - 20 shop renovations!

2. Our new Assistant project manager quited after working here for only 2 months - he is terrible! Made a mess of the projects and left us to clear the mess for him.

3. Project team only left with 1 coordinator. Therefore I will have to go for the project meetings and ordering of the things that are required for the projects.

I helped with the project, then who is going to help me with the quotations? Nobody. Thats why I need to do OT till 10pm every night. But when I think of the long hours the coordinators are putting in, I should not think that I am the worst. They are worse than me. They often have night works to do, weekends burst to rush for deadline etc. Sigh! Contradicting!

婉君...

is the last character in me and my sis chinese name respectively. The photos were taken last Fri after we had gone to the Bridal Studio to select my ROM gown. The designer was not least convinced that we are twins....she said that we look more like sisters. Actually it is kind of contradicting. When we are young, I often detest people who asked whether we are twins and who is the elder sister. But as we grow up, we start to look different till a point now nobody will think we are twins. Feel kind of sad. Geminis.

Managed to watch Rat-a-too-ee last Saturday with the gals. Quite hilarious. Enjoyed it very much.

Heels

I finally found my heels and it was definitely love at 1st sight! Nine West heels retailing at S$175 and it also comes in silver and black.

First saw it at Taka a couple of weekends ago and last Fri I pointed out to Dear and he also agreed with me that it is pretty. Have not go and try the shoe, will do it after my fitting next fri. Hopefully it will match well with my ROM dress and WG (wedding gown) and also it still have my size. *pray hards*

Saturday...

is a day which I spent some quality time with dear. We headed down to Vivo City to catch "Evan Almighty".

It was a hilarious show. It turns out to be funnier than I thought. Just wondering how did they really build up the Ark....

After the show, we shopped around a bit to get a pressie for his niece. Went Toy'rus and some kids wear boutique but did not see anything fancy. Was thinking of getting her a pretty dress so that she can wear it to our ROM. Never mind we can still shop around these few weeks, hopefully there will be something to our liking.
Dinner was at "Kim Gary" - the hongkong style 茶餐厅. Coincidentally this restaurant was renovated by my company and this is the 1st time I step into there after its opening.

It was a postcard personally drawn by Hui! It was so sweet and thoughtful of her to send me this. Thanks Hui! Actually this is the 2nd one she has sent, the 1st one never did reach me. I believe it was lost in mail as Hui has made a small mistake in my address.

Our (jackson and me) new camera! Sony cybershot T100 and yes we got it in black. Silver is too common and red is out since we are sharing the camera.

We got quite a good deal with lots of free gifts threw it. We got free camera case, neck strap, additional battery, LCD cleaning set with protective film and mini tripod. We also got a additional 2GB memory stick for $20. Well that was a sweet mistake made by the sales gal. Only customers getting T200 are able to get the memory stick for $20. We 'tan toh'. Hahaha!

essential brew, bad and good news

Last Saturday, I met up with the poly gals for lunch. After some discussions, we decide to head to Holland V's essential brew. It was our 1st time there and I was the one who suggested the place, however it was not up to our expectations. The food was so-so only. I only like the environment because they got this cosy corner where patrons get to sit on the floor. After having our main course, we decide to take some pics.

Bad news.... My qs colleague has resigned. He got a better job at a main contractor company. Sigh! My efforts for teaching him for the past 4 months have gone down to drain. Don't know whether the next one will be a fresh grad or a experienced person. God bless me.

Good news.... My boss just told me last night that he will sponsor me and dear for a vacation after the completion of the Isetan project. ^_^ He will give me a sponsorship of $3,000! Hehe! I couldn't believe what I heard and I immediately called another colleague and ask her whether my boss is serious about it. She told me if boss wants to give, just take it. Maybe boss just want to show his appreciation for my effort in doing the Isetan project which I have spend quite sometime in preparing the BQ for the client and also doing the tender. So where should we go?

七月初四

Wow is almost 11pm and I am still in office! Why? Because I am waiting for my colleague to finish amending his quote after I have gone through with him just now. Now is already the 7th month of the chinese calendar, so not very wise to go home so late right? But no choice leh, client give us such tight time to submit the quote. On the other hand, I am also rushing for a tender for a 2 storey renovation for Isetan. Hopefully I can finish tomorrow.

Ok 11pm already, need to go home now. Havn't had my dinner yet. -_-

Last Sunday, I gave another try for the cheesecake. This time round I forget to add sugar. -_- However, it still turns out okay but I still find it a bit cold. Think those baked type tastes much more better.

On Sat, hui accompany me down to Amara to sign the contract for the wedding banquet as Dear was still stuck in camp. I also paid for the deposit - $3k... Big hole in the pocket liao.

After that, we set off to MAAD at the red dot museum as we wanted to check out the place. MAAD is a place where local designers and artists will showcase their works and sell their stuffs. There is quite a variety of stalls there, ranging from jewellery to bags to handdrawn post cards etc.



At there, we stumble upon handmadelove booth. A few months back I chanced upon her website and intro it to hui. From there on, we have become regular visitors to her website. We loved her drawings! So we got her to draw our portrait for a small fee of 10 bucks.



Very sweet portrait right? Think only me and hui will appreciate because later when I showed it to dear and other friends, they commented that primary school students can draw even better. So sad. I feel that everyone has their own style of drawing. As for handmadelove, hers is more to illustrations type. Anyway I like can already. Hehe! Hui will be adding colours to the picture, will post a pic of it when it is done.

H.I.G.H is the name of the lan gaming shop that my bro is working. Just found out from him that the shop was featured in the Ch U show "Internship Challange - 报告老板".

I am so angry with the new project manager (apm)! He called me in the afternoon...

APM : Can you arrange with the client the timing and quantity of the vinyl tiles to be delivered to site....

Me : Can you call the client and arrange yourself? because I will not know when you want the tiles to be delivered...

APM : hmmm.... ok....

Wau bang! After working in this company for 5 years, I don't know that I need to do these kind of coordination work. If that is included in my scope of work , then what is the project team for? If I were to coordinate all these delivery stuffs, then I will be like the middle man for them. I will be like calling to and fro, passing messenges. Why can't he contact the client himself? Isn't that more convenient and easier for him?

Anyway, I went to tell my lady boss about this. Just want to let her know that such things the project team have to arrange themselves, not me.

1st and failed attempt...

at making cheesecake. sob sob! Got the no bake cheesecake recipe from Diana, but I did not add in sufficient gelatine, therefore the cheese mixture wasn't able to solidify. Tasted a bit of the mix, it was kinda sourish, will have to add lesser lemon juice the next time round. The crust base was also too thick, have to reduce the number of crashed biscuits.

My colleague will try to check out for me whether her neighbourhood shop is selling those sachets packed gelatine, if not I will try to get it from the shop which sells all the bakery stuff that is near dear's place.

Might have a second attempt this Sunday, shall see about that. Hehe! (^o^)

Yippe! We finally confirmed our wedding venue...one huge stone off our back. Hehe! Now we can sit back and relax a little before planning for the nitty gitty stuffs. \(^o^)/

Even though we did not get the best deal, we still manage to get some extra perks like increasing the wavier of corkage for wine from 30 to 36 bottles and 1 extra night stay at the bridal suite. 2 weeks later we will heading down again to get the contract signed. ^_^

Bought this Barbie's sofa set quite sometime ago but never really get around to take pictures of it. After procrastinating for so long, here is Mica modelling with the new sofa. ^_^

Saturday is a pretty eventful day. First of all, Jackson and I went to collect our wedding bands. Lucky the design turn out satisfactory except that dear's ring was slightly tight on his finger. Hence, it have to go for alteration. No picture of the rings yet. Will take a shot of the rings when dear go and collect them this week.

Next we went to check out Amara Hotel which was the last on our list. Beforehand, we have viewed Carlton, Club Chinos, Park hotel and Merchant Court. We are quite keen on Amara Hotel as the ballroom has a modern look with the ceiling lined with fibre optics that resemble a constellation of stars. The size is also just nice for 30-33 tables and it is column free! The food menu looks better than the rest and it is 9 course dinner. Most important of all, it is within our budget. Hopefully, the hotel will throw in more perks for us especially on the beer and wine. p(^o^)q



Lastly, we went to watch "Transformer" on digital format!. Yippe! It is much more clearer and is the same price as the normal screenings. I loved it very much! It was the best movie I have enjoyed this year. It certainly brings back childhood memories of watching the "Transformers" cartoon on telly, even though in the movie version the transformers appeared to be more highly developed and advanced looking. Will there be a part 2 in the future? Maybe not because Megatron had been defeated by the Autobots. Yeah!

Yippe Friday is here! Friday is my favourite day of the week and I kinda like fridays because....

it means I can start to wind down....
it means weekend is just round the corner....
it means spending quality time with loved one....
it means meeting dear for dinner....
it means I can stay up late watching dramas....
it means I can wake up late the next day (provided that sat I am not working)....

With so much reasons, it is hard to hate it right?





Above is the chocolate hamper I got from a subcon for my bdae. It comes with a small bouquet of roses. Lovely! The wooden crate looks cute right? I got my carpenter subcon to stain it to a walnut colour to make it more pretty. Well the chocolates are all from Lindt and they have been all consumed by my colleagues within a short span of a few days. Lucky I brought home a small box so that I can munch on while watching TV. Hehe!

In case you guys are wondering how come a subcon send me a hamper for bdae, well I also do not understand. He called me the day before enquiring about some work related stuffs then he asked me whether I am free for dinner the next day. I told him "我佳人有约了，明天是我的生日." Next day, I got the hamper. Hmmm....funny right?

These days the prices for HDB are going sky rocket high! Last friday, the newspaper reported that someone bought a Tiong Bahru 5rm flat for $675k!! The valuation was $550k, which means the buyer have to fork out $125k cash above valuation. The worst thing is, the buyer is a enbloc sales person and he/she paid the flat with FULL CASH!! They are really the black sheeps and causing the property market to go crazy.

Last night, my property agent called me saying there is a 4rm at AMK and the seller is asking for $350k!! OMG! The estimated valuation for the flat at that area is about max $260k. Yes, that means is close to $100k above valuation!

How can we afford to pay such a amount? They really think everyone is a enbloc sale buyer whose pockets are full of cash??!! We are just ordinary, average income Singaporeans who just want to get a HDB flat because we can't afford a private apartment. I thought HDB should be more afforable?

When can we have our own flat??

Yesterday jackson and I took a day's leave to attend our friends' ROM (now they are officially Mr & Mrs Chan). It started very early in the morning as the whole ceremony need to be completed before 9am. Don't know whether it is lucky or what, it started to rain after the ceremony has ended. Haha! Then it was followed by the buffet brunch.

After the brunch, we went to pay our deposit for our ROM venue and hopped down to Shaw Centre to see wedding bands. In the end we decided on the spot in the shop, selected the design we want and paid deposit. We also did some engraving on the rings. We settled on JK.WT.271007 which our name initials and the date of our ROM. About 2 weeks later, we will be collecting out rings.

In the evening, we decided to tagged along with Mr & Mrs Chan to their Bridal Studio to returned their ROM gown and suit. In the same day we also confirmed with this Bridal Studio as their offer is very attractive and most importantly I like their gowns. Tried on 1 of them which is a bustier with sequins around, I fell in love with it immediately! :)

Wow now looking back, we have done quite alot in 1 day time....

childhood + older

After being absent-minded for a few days, today I finally remember to bring my childhood photos to office to show to my colleague and also to scan and upload to my friendster.



So there is me and my sis, from the photo you can see we are celebrating our 1st birthday! Concidentially, today is our birthday! Sob Sob... older by a year again, slowly heading towards the 30 mark. Seems like after hitting 25, the after years will zoom pass very fast. Ok back to the photo, can guess which one is me?



Guess this one is us around the age of 5-6. Mum got her friend to knit for us this set of dress. Pretty right? As we grow older, we look lesser and lesser alike. Till now, people will not know we are twins. Hehe!

By the way, 阿妹，生日快乐！！Have fun in krabi!!

Pirates

Wednesday, me and jackson went to watch Pirates of the Caribbean, the much anticipated movie of the year. However, we got abit of difficulty remembering the ending for Part 2 as it was shown 1 year ago. Hehe! Overall we quite enjoyed the show, I felt it was much better than spiderman. Spiderman is kind of draggy and the story is not really that exciting whereas Pirates though it was long but it has more story content. Too bad Chow Yun Fatt's screen time is very little. He only appeared during the 1st half hour of the show.

Just read on Kookii blog that there is still some scenes after the ending credits. It shows 10 years later, Will came back for their once in 10 years on land meeting and Elizabeth is waiting for him with their son. Aiya I missed it! Did not know there is such a scene. Such a pity.
