Dinner at Waraku

Went shopping at Centrepoint yesterday and decided to have dinner here.

The little one showing off his cheeky face again.

Trying to take a photo with the little one but he is distracted.

His dinner consisting of milk and cereal.

Our drinks - Asahi Beer - 1 for 1!

The little one looking anxiously at his dinner.

Our 1st dish - Tamago. Did not take photos of the rest of the food as I am busy feeding the little one and myself. Haha.

Food Talk #9

Treats from Marks and Spencer...

All time favourite - Chocolate Chip Cookies and a cuppa of tea.

New found favourite - Jam Sandwich Creams - love it for its creamy texture and strawberry/rasberry jam.

Woof Woof

Went to my 阿姨 house at Bukit Batok on 初二. She has a dog called Miki. Miki is a friendly dog that does not bark a lot and she will run to whoever is eating, very greedy. Haha.

* photos couresty of Maxime

The little one is very curious about Miki. He would go near her and try to touch her face. He doesn't seem to be afraid of her. He is not afraid of dog but is afraid of car wash. So funny.

Stand Stand

The little one has been standing up by himself without holding on to anything. He only started to do this this few days. We noticed him doing it when he was standing near a table with both of his hands holding on to his books. Then we realised he is not supporting or leaning on to anything. So proud of him.

Seeing Red

All the CNY goodies packed in containers with red covers.

Oranges in red basket. The basket was bought during my wedding's Guo Da Li. Now can recycle to use to display the oranges.

Red wheel spring ornament which I bought in Sydney when I was there for study.

The only things that are not red are my new shoes. All flats, no heels because they are not child friendly.

First Day of CNY

Our house visiting day started at 11am, first stop is my Parents-on-law place. Well that is the only time I flashed out the camera. The rest of the day, my hands and eyes are mainly fixed to the little one or rather the little one is fixed to me. Haha.

Our family photo. Not very well taken. Wanted to take another nicer one but no chance to do that.

Daddy and the little one. Don't they look alike?

My PILs and the little one.

The little one is wearing the chinese suit bought by Popo (my mum). The 2nd and 3rd day of CNY were also spent house visiting, so tiring. Everyday we would reach home around 10pm, change the little one, feed him milk and he would go straight to dreamland.

New Haircut

As CNY is approaching, we brought the little one to have his hair cut. This is the 3rd time he is having his hair cut. The last 2 times, he was cut by my MIL's friend. This time round, we brought him to my hairstylist to do the job. Hubby also trimmed his hair.

The little one did not cry or make a fuss while the hairstylist was doing the work. Instead he was either sitting down or standing up, turning his head looking around as he was curious about the environment in the salon. I had to use his porridge as a bait to make him sit down for a moment.

This is the end result. He had the sides and back of his hair shaved and the front part trimmed. Now is hair looks much neater. Handsome boy!

Early Reunion Dinner

Since both my sister and I are married and we can't have our reunion with my mum on the CNY eve, we decided to have it tonight. And my mum doesn't want to cook, so we had our reunion dinner at Sichuan Douhua Restaurant at OUB Plaza, 60th storey.

There is my little one making funny faces while eating his porridge. He is so cheeky.

Overview from the 60th storey.

1st dish - Yusheng. They have a special ingredient which is dried fish skin, very crunchy.

Their specialty green tea.

The main dish, Peng Cai consisting of dried oysters, prawns, chinese sausages, fish balls, sea cucumbers etc.

Pi Pa doufu with vegetables.

Last of all, dessert which is Thousand Layers Nian Gao. Something special. We were too engrossed in the food that we had forgotten to take a family photo. Will make up for it during CNY.

Happy 10 months old!

Two more months to 1 year old. Most likely going to have a small celebration for him with immediate family members.

These few months there has been a lot of changes in him and he is constantly giving us surprises. He started on solids and is eating well. Two of his bottom front teeth have grown out. The left top teeth is half emerging. He is babbling baby words which sounds like "jie jie" (sister in mandarin), "mum mum" (food in baby language) and others sounds/words which we can't make out. He is able to stand well, holding on to something and he loves it. Think the next step for him is to stand by himself.
