Last Day of 2008

2008 seems to pass by very fast. Maybe is because of alot events happening during the year. So what had happened during the last 355 days?

- after 1 year plus of searching and viewing flats, hubby and me finally found our flat in March

- had our traditional wedding and dinner in mid may

- started my new life living with my in-laws

- got our keys to the new flat in early july

- discovered that i am pregnant in end august

- started renovating the house in sept (but till now still unfinished. left the carpentry works)

- attended sis's rom in mid sept, so happy for her

- as per hubby's wish, bb is a boy!

- shopping for new flat's lighting, sanitary wares, sofas etc is not fun at all!

So what is there to look for next year for me? I suppose most of the time it will evolve around bb. Going for pre-natal classes, more check-ups and finally the birth of bb in end april. Haha. Other than bb, there is another thing we are looking forward. That is moving and living in our new flat. Hopefully my carpenter can speed up the construction of the furniture then we can have our house warming and bb's 满月 together, 一举两得.

Onisuka Tiger + Tokidoki

This is a new collaboration between Onisuka Tiger and Tokidoki for Spring 2009. Are they cute? They are on pre-order now at shops till 28th Dec and retailing at S$199. Abit steep on the price though. There is also the pink and white version. Sis is contemplating to get the black pair. She already own 2 pairs of Onisuka Tiger shoes! I also like the shape and design of the shoe. But will it be too kiddish to wear them on a going to be 30 year old's feet?

Xmas Celebration 131208

Had a early xmas celebration with my poly pals yesterday. We had lunch at Dome Park Mall. There are the participants.

1st is of course Me!

2nd is Miss Jiahui.

3rd is Miss Wynne aka Mrs Chan.

4th is Mr Tony.

Last but not least is Miss Denise who is soon-to-be Mrs Lim. After an hour plus of chit chat and food, we had our usual pressie exchange.

In the end, we are all happy women and man. Merry Xmas!

Pregnancy Week 20

Went for my routine check-up last Sat and had detailed scanning. The Doctor checked every organ of bb to ensure everything was ok. There is just one finding. It was a white spot on the left side of bb's heart. The spot is nothing serious but it increases the probability of bb being down syndrome. My probability now is 1:344 and the cut off probability for "抽洋水" is 1:250. Therefore it is neither here nor there. So Doctor asked us to consider whether to do it or not as the test will be a definite answer whether bb will have genetic problems. Hubby does not want bb and me to do it as he thinks bb will be ok and there is a 1% risk of having miscarriage.

Apart from the above, we were also being told and shown the sex of bb. *drum rolls* is a HE! Hubby was so smug about it and he has this "i told you so" look on his face. Haha! Previously he keep telling me that bb definitely is a boy and occasionally he will look at my tummy and say "bb boy". So his prediction is true. Hehe!

We were also told by Doctor that I will start be feel some movements of bb and these few days I can feel some fluttering movements in the tummy! Soon, I will be feeling the actual punches and kicks from bb because he is a active boy! That is what the Doctor says whenever we are doing the scanning.

Reading

This novel made me cry! First time I read a novel that had my tears flowing down enough to fill a small bucket.

A friend introduced me to this author and this is the second book I have read from her. But this one is great! Kept me on the toes and wanting to finish to get to the ending. However the ending was something unexpected. That explains for the tears. Hubby still laughed at me and called me silly for crying over a novel.

Now I am moving to her next novel called "Vanishing Acts". Looks not bad too.

Pregnancy Week 19

Yippee is Friday again! And tomorrow I am going for detailed scanning of bb. Hopefully bb will be good and let Doctor see every part of the body.

Till now I still find it hard to believe that there is another small one growing inside me. Haha! Maybe it happened too fast, so right now I am slowly accepting and treasuring the little as my tummy becomes bigger. Hehe!

Actually the first trimester of my pregnancy was not very smooth sailing. I do not have much morning sickness, I only experienced slight nauseous during the day and occasionally I will throw up at night. Other than that I look like my usual self, just that I become more "fleshy". But I need to see the gynae every week as my amniotic water was low. Doctor was concerned about it as it may lead to some problems. Nothing can be done except to monitor closely and rest more. We were so scared that we went for second opinion. However, the answer is the same. Can only wait and see.

Luckily, after the first trimester the amniotic water returned to normal. I guess is the balanced diet and more sleep that helps. So now we are more relieved.

Now is the beginning of the 2nd trimester and my appetite grew even more. I would feel hungry 2-3 hrs after I have taken my breakfast and lunch. That is where the biscuits and milk come in to curb the growling sound in my stomach. Haha! Lucky for hubby, I do not have much pregnancy cravings and if I have, it can be put on hold until we got the time to go eat it. :)

Renovation Part 3

Actually there is nothing to update about the new flat renovation as most of the work had been completed except for the carpentry work. We are still waiting for the carpenter to come out with the cabinets drawings. They have yet to construct and hubby have been chasing me for it. But the carpenters are currently busy with my company's projects, so will have to wait. Hopefully we can get all these done by end of Dec.

However, during the weekend we manage to purchase some of the big item electric appliances. We got them from Harley Norman where there is sales going on and they gave us quite a good price. These are what we have gotten.

Madagascar : Escape 2 Africia

Went to watch the movie yesterday when hubby and I went to get his Sony Ericisson X1 phone at AMK hub.

The show is hilarious! Though it was short, it was enjoyable. I think bb enjoys it too. Haha!

Mr and Mrs Chan

Wednesday was my poly buddy and my hubby buddy big day! Yes yes, it was through them I got to know my hubby. They are also the first persons to be informed that we are together because they are our "mei ren". Haha!

I was supposed to be part of the jie mei entourage, due to me being preggie I can't be part of the them. Can only helped them to think of ways to sabo the guys. My MIL even reminded me that I can't even go up to their bridal suite due to some superstitious stuff. So I have to linger around the reception to wait for the lovely bride to come down.

Dinner was great and I was laughing away when viewing the video of the morning session. It was truly very funny when saboing the guys. Too bad I missed it.
