all done in a day

Yesterday jackson and I took a day's leave to attend our friends' ROM (now they are officially Mr & Mrs Chan). It started very early in the morning as the whole ceremony need to be completed before 9am. Don't know whether it is lucky or what, it started to rain after the ceremony has ended. Haha! Then it was followed by the buffet brunch.

After the brunch, we went to pay our deposit for our ROM venue and hopped down to Shaw Centre to see wedding bands. In the end we decided on the spot in the shop, selected the design we want and paid deposit. We also did some engraving on the rings. We settled on JK.WT.271007 which our name initials and the date of our ROM. About 2 weeks later, we will be collecting out rings.

In the evening, we decided to tagged along with Mr & Mrs Chan to their Bridal Studio to returned their ROM gown and suit. In the same day we also confirmed with this Bridal Studio as their offer is very attractive and most importantly I like their gowns. Tried on 1 of them which is a bustier with sequins around, I fell in love with it immediately! :)

Wow now looking back, we have done quite alot in 1 day time....

childhood + older

After being absent-minded for a few days, today I finally remember to bring my childhood photos to office to show to my colleague and also to scan and upload to my friendster.



So there is me and my sis, from the photo you can see we are celebrating our 1st birthday! Concidentially, today is our birthday! Sob Sob... older by a year again, slowly heading towards the 30 mark. Seems like after hitting 25, the after years will zoom pass very fast. Ok back to the photo, can guess which one is me?



Guess this one is us around the age of 5-6. Mum got her friend to knit for us this set of dress. Pretty right? As we grow older, we look lesser and lesser alike. Till now, people will not know we are twins. Hehe!

By the way, 阿妹，生日快乐！！Have fun in krabi!!

Oh ya, great thanks to my friends who has send sms to me this morning to convey their well wishes! Thanks!! Oh and also to dear who "sing" bdae song to me just before the clock strike 12 last night! Smucks!!

Pirates

Wednesday, me and jackson went to watch Pirates of the Caribbean, the much anticipated movie of the year. However, we got abit of difficulty remembering the ending for Part 2 as it was shown 1 year ago. Hehe! Overall we quite enjoyed the show, I felt it was much better than spiderman. Spiderman is kind of draggy and the story is not really that exciting whereas Pirates though it was long but it has more story content. Too bad Chow Yun Fatt's screen time is very little. He only appeared during the 1st half hour of the show.

Just read on Kookii blog that there is still some scenes after the ending credits. It shows 10 years later, Will came back for their once in 10 years on land meeting and Elizabeth is waiting for him with their son. Aiya I missed it! Did not know there is such a scene. Such a pity.

ROM

Yup its been close to a month since dear proposed. The ring has been altered and now it fits nicely in my finger. We have also selected the ROM date, it will be 5 months down the road. The next on the agenda will be venue, follow by JP, then bridal and wedding bands.

For the venue, we found a place that matches our budget and it is indoor. We opted out of outdoor as we do not want to sweat under the sun or be caught in the rain, so indoor is the best option. Just received a couple of pictures from the hotel coordinator, the place look ok. Probably we should find a day to go down and take peek at the place before deciding.

As for the JP, dear like the man at his friend's ROM and sis also commented that her friend's one is quite a comedian. Guess we will call them up and see which one can fit into our timing.

Bintan + Flattered

Been back to work for the past couple of days after spending the long weekend at Bintan. It was truely a relaxing holiday. Going to the beach, getting splashed by waves, suntanning, bbqing, playing with my ds lite etc. Had a great time there doing nothing. Haha! Holidays are always short, before you know it, it ended. So now is back to work. Buck up!

Just now while I was getting off the train at Kallang, a guy approached me and said :"Can I be friends with you?". I took a look at him and said :"Sorry, I am engaged already.". Then I walked away. Haha! Its been a long time since someone wants to get to know me, so flattering. Hehe! But been picked up in the MRT station is strange and that guy failed to notice the ring on my finger. He was just standing on my left in the train. Aiyo!

dear's bdae + surprise

Just now went to "My Secret Garden" for dinner with dear to celebrate his bdae. We ordered lobster bisque, Casar salad, for him is rib eye steak, for me is cod fish and later we had chocolate pudding with toffee sauce. Enjoyed the dinner as the ambiance there is great, not too noisy and there is some soothing music in the background. Forgotten to take pics of the main course. Only remember to take my camera out when the dessert came.



This is what I have gotten for dear as pressie >> a watch. Dear doesn't own a watch so I decided to get him that after he commented that the watch is nice. I am happy that he liked the watch. :)

As for the surprise, it was the RING! I got a proposal from dear and was presented with a diamond ring. I was really surprised as he just pulled out the ring box out of no where and asked me "you don't want this?" Hehe!
So there is me with my ring....

He also said some touching words.... "With that ring, you are the 2nd happiest person in the world. And with you accepting the ring, I am the happiest person in the world." Those words melted my heart. Thanks dear!!



However, we need to alter the ring as my sis gave dear the wrong size. The ring is a little too tight on my fat fingers. Hehe! We will go and alter after we are back from Bintan. Yippe! This weekend we are heading for Bintan as dear's friend had booked a villa there. Time for R & R! Hehe!

Felt so stupid and silly, worrying for nothing.

where are all the flats?

Now is really a very difficult time to buy a HDB flat as the demand for them is high but the amount of flats that are putting up for sale is low. Therefore, once there is a good catch, everyone is grabbing for it even thought one might need to fork out 30-40k cash above valuation or even more. Sigh. Such a big headache. After searching for closing to a year now, we are still at square one.

The valuation of the flats are getting higher. The price the owners are asking are also higher. Some are very far stretched or I should say 狮子大开口。For example, this morning I asked an agent who advertised on today's paper. It was a 5rm flat which was about 6yrs old, on 11th floor. The valuation is $430k and the owner is asking for a sky high price of $495k! OMG! These kind of flats, we do not even need to go and see, the price alone has scared us off.

So with such ridiculous pricing, how and when can we get something that we like and is within our budget? Really feel kind tired of flipping through the papers, calling the agents and viewing flats.

Then at 7pm when they announce the 4D number....2408 is 3rd prize! That caught us by surprised! Yippe! Actually is Jackson who won not me. He is the one who queued up to buy and pay the money. Hehe!
