Married!!

A week before my wedding, my very good friend, Hui sent me hand drawn postcards to count down to the big day! I am so happy to see the cards. Thanks Hui!!

postcards

She is very talented in drawing right? So sweet of her to do such thing for me.

My wedding day came and ended very fast. After planning for a year, 24 hours passed by very quickly. Everything went on smoothly, all thanks to all the xiong dis for their help and also to the jie meis for the very exciting and funny gate crashing.

The most memorable moment is actually during the 2nd march in for the dinner. Dear was on the stage singing a cantonese song (I do not know what song was that) while I was being walked into the ballroom by my sister. I was surprised and touched because this is the most romantic thing he had ever done for me. Thanks Dear! Smuck!

There are some of the photos taken by my Bro. Enjoy!

:: 安床 :: Bridal Room ::

bridal room

Did my 安床 last Saturday. It is actually quite a simple procedure. Just put 4 nos of 红包 with 大小缘 at the 4 corners of the bed and put a tray with oranges, 发糕 etc at the centre of the bed and is done! Simple and fast. Hehe!

Did not really renovate the Bridal Room except for a fresh coat of paint, new curtains and a new Bridal bed. I got my carpenter to custom made the bed for me. It came with drawers at the base so that we will have more storage space.

10 days more...

Is 7.30pm now and I am still in office doing OT. I think I am kind of suay. Always kena tenders when I am going on leave. Not 1 but 2 tenders! Not Singapore but Bangkok projects! The closing date for the tenders is on 12th May noon but I need to finish them on Thurs as I am on leave on Fri for my GDL. I only got the drawings today, so I only got 4 days to finish them. God bless me!

Better stop blogging and get back to work. Want to go back earlier, feeling tired due to the slight running nose. Sigh!

Schedule for the Next 10 Days

  • 5th - 8th May :: Rush to finish my 2 tenders
  • 9th May :: Guo Da Li
  • 10th May :: An Chuan and touch up my hair colour
  • 11th May :: Clean up my room
  • 12th May :: Facial
  • 13th May :: Collect gowns and suits
  • 14th May :: Manicure and pedicure
  • 15th May :: BIG DAY

These two stickers are very pretty too! Especially the bottom one. Wanted to stick it onto the cabinet and the top sticker to paste onto my door.

30 March 2008

confirmed

our pre-wedding album layout. So this is the final product. Enjoy!

22 March 2008

sneak preview

Last night, the designer emailed us the 1st draft layout of our pre-wedding photo album for our comments. I personally like the one below best.

This set of photos were taken inside the bridal suite of Amara Hotel where we are holding our wedding banquet. I like the combination of the photos and it give me a very cozy feeling, making us look very natural.

Basically the layout of most of the pages are ok except that we do not want to have any wordings on the background or any effects on the pics inserts. The designer had forgotten to email us 2 pages of the photos. No wonder when we are counting the total nos of photos for all the pages it does not add up to 60.

Hopefully we do not have to make too much changes to the 2nd draft so that we can get our album earlier. If not the coordinator say they will only be ready 2 weeks before our wedding.

preparation...

for the big day is progressing very slowly. Oh sucks! I still got alot of outstanding things to do and prepare. Time is running out, only left with 2 months. Even my sis was commenting that I am the only bride whom she has seen is the most lobo one. Haha! I guess I better do up a checklist to remind myself of my tasks and the important dates.

Outstanding Tasks

1. Decide on the confectionery to order for wedding cake

2. Confirm with mum nos. of boxes of cake required

3. Shopping for Guo Da Li stuffs

4. Search for MC script

5. Do out a draft guest list

6. Confirm on the food for food tasting

7. Confirm time with bridal for actual day make-up

8. Search for cheap and good red wines

Important Dates

29th March - Food tasting @ Amara, 7.30pm

9th May - Guo Da Li

pre-wedding photo shoot

Went for my pre-wedding photo shoot today. Woke up around 8am and left the house at 830am in order to avoid the jam at CTE.

We had the indoor shoot first from 11.30am all the way to 4pm before heading out for the outdoor shoots. Of course we got break in between to have lunch, if not I will probably faint from hunger. Haha!

For the outdoor shoots, we went Amara Hotel where we shoot at the Bridal Suite and swimming pool area. Next we drove down to Spottiwoode Park to shoot with the multi-coloured shophouse kind of houses. Lastly, we went to Ladabor Park for the greenery.

All ended around 730pm...and as I am typing this entry, I am feeling sleeping and tired................ no photos today because we are busy posing and smiling for the camera. Nite!

Choices

In life one will have alot alot of choices to make. For me, I have decided on my Wedding Gowns yesterday.

Choosing for the EG was the most tedious as the selection was quite limited as I wanted dark colours. After trying on various colours and design, I took a liking to a modern cut black cheongsam with the back totally exposed. This is the only design that flatter my 身材 other than bustier. Husband keep shaking his head when I try on a halter neck design as I cannot fill up around the chest area. Haha!

Finally I decided to custom make my EG as black seems to be not a favourite colour for wedding. I went for dark maroon colour. Hopefully I will turn up ok for me.

Important Dates to Remember
24 Jan - 1st Fitting
23 Feb - Final Fitting

25 Feb - Indoor and Outdoor Photography

Today me and husband went to view the City View show flat @ Boon Keng. I was abit disappointed with parts of the design, namely the area of the balcony and the ledge below the bay window. Both items took up quite amount of floor space and I deemed it to be very wasteful. Have to consider whether to ballot for the flat as this is the 5th time we are balloting and whether we could afford it as it is about S$550/sqft. So averagely, a 5 room flat will cost about S$600K. Another choice to be made - but this time is a lifetime commitment.

lazy gal

Yes I am truly a lazy gal ever since after my ROM. Haha! Had been procasting on stuffs that I should be doing but instead I am trying to defend some clients on my DS lite and watching drama series.

Currently I am hooked to "Heroes" and "公主小妹". For "Heroes", I am still in season 1 and after watching episode 1, I fell in love with the storyline! I am looking forward to see how the group of people with supernatural powers got together to save the world.

As for the stuffs I need to do....

  • To gather info and design for my WG and decide which type I will like as I will be meeting up with the designer next month, thats leave me 1 month to research.
  • To start jogging again. Have stopped jogging after ROM which is like 3 weeks!!
  • Must start to do some groundwork for next year customary, eg the stuffs we need for Guo Da Li,An Zhuang etc.

Wow seems like there is alot stuffs to do. Seriously I need to start on all these stuffs. Probably I should shorten the time I spend on watching the dramas. Haha! Ganbate!! p(^o^)q

婉君...

is the last character in me and my sis chinese name respectively. The photos were taken last Fri after we had gone to the Bridal Studio to select my ROM gown. The designer was not least convinced that we are twins....she said that we look more like sisters. Actually it is kind of contradicting. When we are young, I often detest people who asked whether we are twins and who is the elder sister. But as we grow up, we start to look different till a point now nobody will think we are twins. Feel kind of sad. Geminis.

essential brew, bad and good news

Last Saturday, I met up with the poly gals for lunch. After some discussions, we decide to head to Holland V's essential brew. It was our 1st time there and I was the one who suggested the place, however it was not up to our expectations. The food was so-so only. I only like the environment because they got this cosy corner where patrons get to sit on the floor. After having our main course, we decide to take some pics.

There is wynne and denise.

This is me and jiahui. We decide to do some funny poses. Haha! Don't we look silly?

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Bad news.... My qs colleague has resigned. He got a better job at a main contractor company. Sigh! My efforts for teaching him for the past 4 months have gone down to drain. Don't know whether the next one will be a fresh grad or a experienced person. God bless me.

Good news.... My boss just told me last night that he will sponsor me and dear for a vacation after the completion of the Isetan project. ^_^ He will give me a sponsorship of $3,000! Hehe! I couldn't believe what I heard and I immediately called another colleague and ask her whether my boss is serious about it. She told me if boss wants to give, just take it. Maybe boss just want to show his appreciation for my effort in doing the Isetan project which I have spend quite sometime in preparing the BQ for the client and also doing the tender. So where should we go?

After that, we set off to MAAD at the red dot museum as we wanted to check out the place. MAAD is a place where local designers and artists will showcase their works and sell their stuffs. There is quite a variety of stalls there, ranging from jewellery to bags to handdrawn post cards etc.

At there, we stumble upon handmadelove booth. A few months back I chanced upon her website and intro it to hui. From there on, we have become regular visitors to her website. We loved her drawings! So we got her to draw our portrait for a small fee of 10 bucks.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Very sweet portrait right? Think only me and hui will appreciate because later when I showed it to dear and other friends, they commented that primary school students can draw even better. So sad. I feel that everyone has their own style of drawing. As for handmadelove, hers is more to illustrations type. Anyway I like can already. Hehe! Hui will be adding colours to the picture, will post a pic of it when it is done.
